Man United star proves he’s the answer for Amorim’s dilemma with scintillating play in WC qualifier – (Video)

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim should be delighted with what he saw from Manuel Ugarte while on international duty.

By signing Senne Lammens on deadline day, the Red Devils were able to solve their goalkeeping problems and restructure their attacking unit in the summer. But with no new players added to the team, the center of the park was nearly unchanged from the previous season.

United attempted to sign Carlos Baleba, but Brighton repelled their offer by asking for more than £100 million. Conor Gallagher, Angelo Stiller, Lucien Agoume, and other midfielders were then linked to INEOS, but none of them ever came close to completing a move to Manchester United.

Man United failed to strengthen the middle of the park

Amorim has stated since the beginning of the season that Kobbie Mainoo and club captain Bruno Fernandes will battle for the No. 8 position, while Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte will fight for the position of holding midfielder.

The match between Casemiro and Ugarte created a lot of doubts because the Brazilian veteran had the advantage over the younger Uruguayan, but Bruno was always going to defeat the young Englishman.

Even after being reunited with his former Sporting CP manager, Amorim, who joined the team last November, the 24-year-old hasn’t had the impact that Manchester United supporters were hoping for since arriving at Carrington last summer after completing a £40 million transfer from PSG. Nevertheless, Ugarte has seized the chance to demonstrate his abilities while serving abroad.

Manuel Ugarte shows glimpses of a dominant holding midfielder

Ugarte began the Uruguay vs. Peru World Cup qualifier on the bench, just like his position at Manchester United. But in one incredible play that resulted in his team’s third goal, he was able to showcase all of his abilities.

After outmuscling his opponent, the Man United star regained possession in the center of the park. He then ran frantically towards Peru’s box before teeing off Brian Rodriguez, who assisted Federico Vinas.

Although this is undoubtedly a positive indication from the former PSG player, there has been talk about his physical state at Manchester United because he appears to find it difficult to play consistently for 90 minutes or more.
