United star bags two assists in dazzling display to inspire country’s 3-0 demolition, Sesko will be licking his lips

Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo produced a top-class performance, helping Cameroon to a comfortable 3-0 victory over lowly Eswatini.

Mbeumo settling into life at United

Since moving from Brentford to United during the summer transfer window, Mbeumo has undoubtedly looked the part.

Despite an unpredictable start to the new season, he has been among United’s better performers, and his performances have earned him a nomination for the club’s August Player of the Month award.

Mbeumo opened his Premier League account against Burnley after scoring his first goal for United in the humiliating EFL Cup loss to Grimsby Town.

The 26-year-old guided Cameroon to a resounding victory in their World Cup qualifying match against Eswatini on Thursday after being selected in the starting lineup.

Mbeumo shines against Eswatini

Six minutes into the match, Mbeumo made his presence known by playing a significant part in Cameroon’s opening goal.

From outside the box, he unleashed a shot that hit Gamedze before going over the Eswatini goalkeeper and into the net. It was determined to be an own goal, which was unfortunate for Mbeumo.

Less than twenty minutes later, the United player was back at it, this time sending Georges-Kevin Nkoudou on his way home with a wonderful, precise cross inside the box.

Moments later, Arthur Nvom scored a third goal to give Cameroon the victory and crush any chances of a comeback that Eswatini might have had.

Mbeumo was removed from the field after 82 minutes of play.

Also on the pitch for the Indomitable Lions was Andre Onana, although he was largely a bystander in front of goal and didn’t have much to do.

Mbeumo and Onana are back in action on Tuesday, 9 September, when Cameroon take on table leaders Cape Verde at Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde.
