Man United set for late transfer test as £55m details emerge

Although the transfer market ended earlier this week, there is still a lot of conjecture about Manchester United. Despite adding four players in the summer, Ruben Amorim’s team is still lacking.

United was connected to several players during the transfer window, but they were able to fend off interest from several teams in order to sign Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo.

United may make a move for players during the January transfer window to strengthen Amorim’s squad even more. Now, there are rumors about certain movements that are just now emerging and might be brought up again after Christmas.

Semenyo personal terms

Man United ‘aggressively targeted’ Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo in the summer, according to journalist Duncan Castles. He described how the Ghanaian international rejected a move to Old Trafford in an interview with The Transfers Podcast.

According to reports, Amorim even took the forward out to dinner in London, and United was prepared to pay £55 million for Semenyo. Rather, Bournemouth was able to persuade him to sign a new deal with the team.

MEN Sport says: “Semenyo would have been perfect for United after scoring 13 goals last season. He has continued his fine form this term and it’s no surprise.

“When he signed a new contract at the Vitality Stadium, some at United would have been gutted to see him stay. “However, the interest is clearly there and there’s a chance United revisit the situation next summer.”

Maguire offer made

The center-back Despite having previously committed his future to the club, Harry Maguire is allegedly a target for two Saudi Arabian clubs. European players can still make moves until the Middle East window ends on September 23.

Maguire is in his last season at United, and he may decide to quit the team. Maguire will only think about a move at the end of the season, according to the Sun.

MEN Sport says: “United turned down bids for Maguire in the summer and it’s obvious why. When he’s been utilised by Amorim, he’s been reliable and you can see why the Portuguese wanted to keep him at the club.

“With the transfer window now closed and United unable to bring in a replacement, it would take a huge bid from Saudi to even tempt United to sell Maguire before September 23.”
