Jadon Sancho has approved a move to Napoli this summer but Manchester United are demanding a €25 million (£21.3m) transfer fee, according to reports in Italy.
Chelsea confirmed last week that they are not taking up their £25 million permanent option to sign Sancho following his season-long stint at Stamford Bridge and have paid a £5m penalty fee to send him back to United.
Sancho is now searching for a new club as it is understood that Ruben Amorim has no plans to integrate the 25-year-old into his squad for United’s pre-season campaign.
According to Sky Sport Italy, Sancho has verbally agreed to join Napoli but the Serie A champions are yet to reach an agreement with United over a fee.
Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Sancho this summer, however, the winger’s former club Borussia Dortmund have all but ruled out a return.
‘Of course, contact with Jadon is always there, in some way, because we have a very long history,’ Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, told Ruhr Nachrichten last week.
‘But that’s not an issue for us right now. We have other priorities at the moment, and that’s why the Sancho issue may have been more talked about in the media than internally.’
Chelsea had explored the option of signing Sancho on a permanent deal following his loan spell but could not reach an agreement over personal terms.
