Manchester United should look to pursue a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic instead of Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap this summer.
It is evident that the Red Devils are in need of a new centre-forward to lead boss Ruben Amorim’s attack. The current crop of forwards in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have only managed to score a combined seven league goals this season, and the side may well have done considerably better than a 16th-placed finish with a more clinical presence up-front.
Delap showed promise with Ipswich, despite the side’s relegation. A number of clubs are considering a move for his services, including Everton and Newcastle, but Manchester United should avoid the Englishman and instead shift their attention to Turin for their new signing.
United Must Sign Vlahovic Over Delap
The Serbian could be on the move this summer
According to a report from Italian outlet Tuttosport, Juventus are increasingly likely to part ways with Vlahovic this summer. The 25-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, and there has been minimal progress on a renewal, hence why a sale has been considered to recoup some value.
It could be an excellent market opportunity for Manchester United, who are in desperate need of a reliable talisman. Vlahovic netted 15 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions this term and he is on the verge of entering his prime years at 25 years of age.
Meanwhile, Manchester United previously opened talks with Delap, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano on GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast. However, the 22-year-old, though immensely talented, has played just one season of top-flight football in comparison to Vlahovic who has several seasons under his belt.
