Manchester United is trying to save expenses overall, and one tactic they may use is to attract young players from around the globe. Chelsea and Real Madrid have benefited from this strategy.
According to Caught Offside, their most recent target is a player who plays in the Russian first division; Kirill Glebov, a midfielder for CSKA Moscow, is at the top of their list of possible acquisitions.
Since the Russian top division began, the 19-year-old has scored three goals and provided an assist. Several English teams, including Manchester United, are reportedly interested in signing him and have been scouting him.
United, however, are believed to have an advantage, as per the source, and are the player’s ‘dream’ destination due to their rich history, the grandeur of Old Trafford as well as Glebov looking up to Sir Alex Ferguson.
Glebov worth the gamble for Man United
There is a chance that Kirill Glebov’s move to Manchester United won’t work out in the Premier League, particularly given that he hasn’t played in the first team even while at CSKA Moscow.
Nevertheless, given that the player would only cost about £1 million and that his salary demands are unlikely to have a significant effect on their wage structure, the Red Devils can easily afford to take this risk.
Glebov can play on both flanks and has previously earned caps for the Russian national team. His creativity and long-range finishing are among his strong attributes, and his diligence off the ball makes him a well-rounded player.
It remains to be seen if the CSKA Moscow teenager is himself open to the idea of switching pastures, however, or is happy to prolong his development at a club where he has spent the last five years across various youth levels too.
