One of the teams interested in Athletic Club’s standout defender, Dani Vivian, is Manchester United.
Last season, Vivian was one of La Liga’s most impressive defenders, winning praise for his daring and persistent approach to defending in the opposition’s half. The 26-year-old is Ernesto Valverde’s most trusted defender in Bilbao because of his speed and agility.
Prior to the most recent summer transfer window, he was linked to teams like United, but Athletic was able to hang onto its star player.
With an eye on a January or summer transfer, several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in his services due to his modest release clause.
Premier League clubs open to triggering Dani Vivian’s release clause
Fichajes claims that Vivian is being followed by United, Newcastle, and Aston Villa.
The Premier League trio is reportedly prepared to pay his €40 million release clause because they believe it to be a “bargain” for a player of his caliber.
The Spain international, who has a contract with Athletic through 2032, does not, however, want to leave the team.
His suitors would therefore need to pay the €40 million fee all at once, which isn’t always feasible because of PSR issues.
Man United could sign a new defender in the near future
Despite letting go of Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof when their contracts expired at the end of the previous season, United failed to sign a center-back during the just concluded summer transfer window.
But with his commitment to his 3-4-3 shape, Ruben Amorim might want a new center defender sooner rather than later.
According to a recent rumor, Harry Maguire “would consider” moving to Saudi Arabia next summer, according to The People’s Person.
Consequently, Amorim, who places a high importance on mobility in his wide center-backs, may find Vivian to be a wise addition.
