The Reds are looking to add to the squad and a new central midfielder is something that’s been consistently mentioned by supporters and those close to the club recently.
This, despite the Reds spending more than £100m on new midfielders like Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexi Mac Allister just last summer.
However, it looks like the club want another face in the middle of the park and according to reports, are now preparing a £38m bid to sign one target.
Liverpool planning to make £38m Ederson bid
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Liverpool are now ready to make an official offer for Ederson as they look to tempt Atalanta into selling.
The Brazilian midfielder was one of the best midfielders in Europe last season as he teamed with Teun Koopmeiners in the middle of the park to help the Italians win the Europa League.
Ederson’s form has caught the eye of onlooking clubs in England it appears Liverpool are super keen.

The apparent bid being launched here does contradict a few reports from earlier in the week which suggested the Reds would not be moving for Ederson.
However, things move quickly in football and after personal terms were apparently more or less sorted a week or so back, a bid could now be on the way.
The new signings all did well last season at different times and with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch yet to really show their talent, there’s a lot to like about Liverpool’s future in midfield.
However, there can be no doubt that adding a player like Ederson would give the Reds yet another weapon.
Ederson has been lauded for putting in some ‘sensational‘ performances on the big stage for Atalanta and it looks like he’s a player who can make the next step.
Liverpool, then, could do far worse than spend just shy of £40m on the Brazilian.
