Viktor Gyokeres sends two-word message as ‘agreement’ struck over Top Man United target -Reports

Despite summer transfer rumours with Manchester United and Arsenal, both teams in need of a striker, Viktor Gyokeres is still making an impression for Sporting CP in Portugal.

Associated with Manchester United On social media, Viktor Gyokeres shared a two-word statement.

With a stellar record of 95 goals in 100 games since joining Liga Portugal from Coventry City in July 2023, the Swedish international has emerged as one of Europe’s best attackers in recent years.

With 38 goals and eight assists in 32 games this season, Sporting’s top scorer has had a big influence on the Portuguese top division.

With one game remaining, Sporting has risen to the top of the league thanks in large part to the 26-year-old’s contributions to Rui Borges’ team.

The player himself has also been active on social media in recent days. “Let’s go,” he said in one of his Instagram stories after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Benfica

Gyokeres has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford since the appointment of former manager Ruben Amorim in November. United are in dire need of a consistent goal scorer this summer, having only netted 42 times in the Premier League.

However, The Manchester Evening News understands that United have set their sights on Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap as their main target to strengthen their attack this summer, rather than Gyokeres.

Portuguese publication Correio da Manha report that Arsenal have made a significant move for the star forward. They suggest that the Gunners have already agreed personal terms with Gyokeres and are now pushing to have their bid accepted.
