Marcus Rashford ‘makes decision’ on future amid uncertainty over Man Utd return

Marcus Rashford has reportedly made a decision on his future after his impressive loan spell at Aston Villa.

Rashford, 27, left Old Trafford for Villa Park during the January transfer window after losing favor with United manager Ruben Amorim.

Rashford has contributed four goals and six assists in 17 games for Unai Emery’s team in all competitions since joining Villa.

However, following an injury last month, the Englishman’s season is now reportedly gone.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein said at the time: “Marcus Rashford expected to miss rest of season with hamstring injury.

“No surgery + rehab at #AVFC as tests ongoing. #THFC game not totally ruled out but highly likely campaign over & 27yo to focus on getting fit for England games in June.”

Rashford’s future has been a hot issue as the summer transfer window draws near after he showed hints of his former self at Villa.

Rashford has been connected to a number of teams in recent weeks, including Villa, Barcelona, and Borussia Dortmund.

It has now been asserted, nevertheless, that Rashford has decided on his future.

Charlie Gordon, a senior sports reporter for The Express, posted on social media: “This summer, Marcus Rashford would want to remain at Aston Villa rather than relocate overseas.

“The primary point of contention is the £350,000 weekly salary. The restoration of Manchester United is still quite doubtful.

Following a successful stint working with Emery, it has been speculated that Rashford is leaning toward staying at Villa.

Villa manager Emery was questioned last month about if a decision had been made on the forward’s future with the team.

“Not yet,” he answered. The challenge today and this afternoon, recuperating, and then getting ready for the game versus Brighton tomorrow are the most crucial things.

“Many matches still to be played. It is entirely different whether we are in the European Conference League, the Champions League, the Europa League, or not in Europe or taking home a prize.

“A decision regarding each individual player… it is to get the best of them and the best of us,” Emery continued. We don’t want to squander time considering it.

On Friday night, Villa Park will host Tottenham Hotspur in their return to Premier League action.
