Man Utd have ‘held talks’ with third Prem forward to join Delap, Cunha in dazzling new-look attack

Talks have been held with two more Premier League forwards, with the stars of Nottingham Forest and Brentford now in their sights, in addition to the deals that are being arranged and progressing for Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha. Ruben Amorim is very much on a mission to bolster his attack at Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils are currently in 16th place and a pitiful 26 points outside of the top four after losing a dismal 17 of their 36 games so far, making this the worst Premier League season in franchise history. Manchester United is well aware that significant squad additions are needed this summer, even though their march to the Europa League final has somewhat saved their season.

Increasing the intensity of his onslaught seems to be Amorim’s first aim. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have neither shown any ruthlessness or efficiency in front of goal, and United has only managed a dismal 42 goals in 36 league games, which is only better than four other teams in the division.

They haven’t wasted any time, though, in starting the process of bolstering their alternatives. Following the denial of a late attempt by Arsenal to hijack the deal, a deal for Matheus Cunha advanced significantly on Tuesday. Additionally, a deal for Delap appears to be on track, as the Ipswich Town star is thought to be eager to complete the transfer.

However, Wednesday morning reports indicated that United is looking to bolster its forward line with a third acquisition. According to Sky Sports, calls have also been made for Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

TalkSPORT now alleges that another signing has entered their consideration as a result of rumors that United executives have also “held talks” with Antoine Semenyo, a dynamic forward for Bournemouth.

According to the report, the Ghanaian winger, who has made 40 appearances this season and contributed 18 goals (11 goals and seven assists), is not being pursued by the Cherries.

Even though he still has four years left on his contract, they might be forced to consider selling him if they receive an offer of between £50 million and £60 million.

Man Utd transfers: Enquiries ongoing for Nottingham Forest star

It’s unclear if United will sign Semenyo or Hudson-Odoi, but it seems obvious that Amorim and company won’t be content with just the two forward line additions this summer. Amorim is keen to add players who can perform better in his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.

However, Sky Sports claims that before making a possible move, United is closely examining Hudson-Odoi’s circumstances at the City Ground.

The Englishman and Forest are now in “talks” over a new deal, although they have not yet reached a consensus. Additionally, as Hudson-Odoi’s present terms are set to expire in June 2026, he may be able to go on for a lower price this summer if no extension is finalized.

This has placed on Man Utd on alert as they are spying a cut-price deal to get him to Old Trafford.

In Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation at United, the three-cap England international could play as a left wing-back or a left-sided No 10.

Man Utd transfer latest: Bruno replacement identified; two big sales likely

Amidst mounting rumors that the Red Devils captain may leave this summer, United is said to have selected a top Athletic Bilbao midfielder as a potential successor for Bruno Fernandes.

United’s summer hiring plans are probably heavily influenced by sales, and it has been alleged that Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho has approved a surprise attack on Old Trafford that might boost their transfer budget.

According to a report, a “X-factor” United attacker is open to joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window. TEAMtalk insiders have disclosed the Red Devils’ position on selling the young player.
