Man Utd fans spot unusual detail with Ruben Amorim’s hands during Athletic Bilbao clash and it’s got everyone stumped

Manchester United fans were left confused after noticing a strange detail about Ruben Amorim’s hands during their Europa League semi-final.

On Thursday evening, United achieved their fifth cup final in five years by securing a 7-1 aggregate victory over Athletic Club, thereby confirming their spot in the Europa League final.

As the match approached, the atmosphere was charged with tension, as triumph in the Europa League and a spot in the upcoming Champions League would provide Amorim an opportunity to salvage what has been a largely disappointing season.

It seems that this pressure may have affected the Portuguese manager, as supporters noticed an unusual detail regarding his hands during the game.

As Manchester United hosted Athletic Club at Old Trafford for the second leg of the Europa League semi-final, they entered the match with a commanding 3-0 advantage after having outperformed their rivals the previous week.

However, by the time the first half concluded, the visitors had managed to score, raising concerns among United supporters and players that the Spanish team might be orchestrating a remarkable comeback. Fans speculated that Amorim was particularly anxious about the outcome, as they observed that the United manager had a bandage on his left hand during the half-time interval, leading them to believe they understood the reason behind it.

Following a Premier League loss to Brighton in January, Amorim confessed to having damaged a television screen in the club’s locker room out of sheer anger and frustration. Although he later vowed to control his emotions better in the future, some fans suspect he may have injured his hand while expressing his frustration in the changing room on Thursday night.

Noticing the plaster, one fan wrote on social media: “Amorim put a plaster on the back of his hand?”

While one joked: “Amorim definitely punched something in the dressing room at half time. See the plaster on his left hand.”

Another agreed with this theory, adding: “Did anyone check the TVs in the changing room is ok? Amorim had a plaster over his knuckles.”

United will face Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final which will take place on May 21 at the San Mames stadium in Bilbao.
