Good news for Fans as Man Utd Talks ‘Advanced’ to Trigger ‘World-Class’ Star’s Release Clause -Reports

Manchester United are leading the race for Matheus Cunha and are edging closer to wrapping up a deal which would see the Wolverhampton Wanderers star head to Old Trafford during the summer, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

Patrick Dorgu has been the most expensive acquisition of head coach Ruben Amorim’s reign, with the Denmark international joining the Red Devils in a switch worth £30million from Serie A strugglers Lecce in February, but there is a desire to bring in further reinforcements ahead of a campaign where they could still be competing in the Champions League.

Writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Romano has confirmed that Manchester United have remained at the front of the queue for Cunha’s signature as preparations are made for Amorim’s first full season in charge, while the Brazilian is locked in ongoing discussions with influential figures behind the scenes. The respected journalist said:

“I’m still told that Manchester United are leading the race and the negotiation is advanced. Talks are ongoing between Cunha and Manchester United.”

The Red Devils are aware that they will have an opportunity to take advantage of a £62.5million release clause written into the forward’s Wolves contract when the transfer window reopens for business, but that also means that they are facing the threat of competition from other interested parties.

Although Cunha has given Manchester United and other admirers fresh hope of being able to lure him away from his current surroundings in the coming months as he  publicly confirmed that he wants to challenge for regular silverware and is ready to take the next step in his career, he is assessing his options.
