From Spain: Barcelona eyeing shock loan move for left-footed United forward, player open to the possibility

It’s impossible to predict what will happen in the Europa League final given Manchester United’s current Premier League performance and the slack performances from many of their players.

The majority of the players have performed below expectations as a result of Ruben Amorim’s “Euro League or bust” mentality. This needs to be fixed by the head coach before summer.

With another fire sale planned, INEOS has already planned to restructure the entire team while keeping an eye on everything. Antony is also anticipated to be among the first to leave, despite his stellar play while on loan at Real Betis.

He has eight goals and five assists since signing on loan in January and his form has naturally attracted plenty of interest, both within Spain and even England.

Antony to be sold

Atletico Madrid has already made an opening proposal, but Arsenal has come as a surprise suitor. Although Betis is thrilled to have the Brazilian, they are unable to meet United’s demands for €50 million.

According to rumors from Spanish media, Barcelona has now entered the match with Hansi Flick, and Deco is impressed with the Brazil international’s performance in La Liga this season, according to Teamtalk.

Although Antony is eager to try himself at a major club once more, the Catalans lack the money to sign the 25-year-old outright. Rather, they will focus on a financing agreement that offers a purchase option but no commitment.

“FC Barcelona is preparing for a summer transfer window in which the strategy will be clear: strengthen key positions without compromising the club’s financial situation.

“In this context, Joan Laporta and the sporting management have one name underlined in red: Antony, the Brazilian winger owned by Manchester United and currently on loan to Real Betis. The sporting directorate, headed by Deco, is closely monitoring the player’s situation.

“His profile fits perfectly with what Hansi Flick is looking for in attack: a direct winger with a strong attacking streak, aggressiveness, and the ability to break down defenses. Most importantly, Antony has already proven he can perform at a high level in Spanish football.

Barca want Antony

“FC Barcelona can’t afford to spend a lot this summer, and a loan with an option to buy is the ideal way to sign Antony. Those close to the player are positive about the possibility of a move to Camp Nou. Antony wants to establish himself among Europe’s elite and knows that Barça would be a great opportunity to showcase himself.”

United has already told Betis that they are not in the mood to approve another loan agreement, and it is unlikely that Barcelona will change their mind.

If Betis is unable to provide the required funds, the Spanish team will have to make a good offer or risk losing Antony to Atletico, who appear to be in the lead.

While the majority of the squad is being put up for sale by INEOS, Antony’s sale should help Amorim with their summertime demands.
