Exclusive: Arsenal make Gyokeres decision after Man United latest

Arsenal has identified Viktor Gyokeres, the striker from Sporting CP, as their primary target for the upcoming summer transfer window, according to sources cited by Football Insider.

The 26-year-old has emerged as one of the top strikers globally while playing for the Portuguese club and appears poised for a transfer to the Premier League this summer.

Football Insider reported last month (28 April) that Manchester United is growing increasingly confident that their pursuit of the Sporting star Gyokeres is a ‘done deal.’ Nevertheless, Arsenal is also focusing on acquiring a striker and has set its sights on securing the services of the Swedish international.

Arsenal ready to gazump Man United in Gyokeres race

The Gunners are expected to offer Champions League football next season, a prospect that can only be equaled by United if they secure victory in the Europa League.

Reports indicate that Gyokeres will be priced at approximately £60 million this summer, a fee that both clubs can easily accommodate. This season, he has scored 52 goals and provided 13 assists in 50 matches across all competitions.

The former Brighton and Coventry player is contracted with Sporting until June 2028. A potential advantage for Manchester United in this pursuit may lie in Gyokeres’ connection with Ruben Amorim, who has played a significant role in the striker’s development in recent years.

Arsenal in talks to agree Trossard deal

Recently, Football Insider disclosed (10 May) that Arsenal is engaged in advanced negotiations with Leandro Trossard regarding a new four-year contract. Trossard is set to enter the last year of his current contract with Arsenal this summer, and the club is eager to offer him a new agreement.

The 30-year-old player has scored 10 goals in 54 matches this season, contributing an additional nine assists. For further updates on Arsenal and exclusive news, please follow us on Facebook or join our newly established WhatsApp Channel for immediate notifications sent directly to your phone.
