Manchester United’s unhappy Premier League season found a new depth to plunge to on May 11.
Manchester United is a completely different team in the Premier League, going undefeated in the Europa League all season on their way to earning a spot in the Final.
The most recent disappointing outcome was a 2-0 loss against a subpar West Ham club at Old Trafford, who were nonetheless far superior to the Red Devils in terms of skill.
Leny Yoro then had an injury to cap off a terrible afternoon that saw the team finish a resounding 16th in the standings.
Leny Yoro injury latest
Victor Lindelof took Leny Yoro’s place after he hobbled off in the 52nd minute. One could wonder why the young Frenchman was never given a break.
Sensing a possible win at Old Trafford, Amorim had picked a comparatively strong starting lineup, only to watch United lose the league once more.
The worst part of the match was Yoro’s injury, which made supporters worry that he might miss the Europa League Final.
As the Frenchman walked out of the stadium, BBC reporter Simon Stone gave some background on Leny Yoro’s injuries.
“Leny Yoro was not wearing a protective boot or using crutches as he left the stadium,” he reported.
Ruben Amorim optimistic
Due to an ACL tear, center-back Lisandro Martinez has already been sidelined for the season by Ruben Amorim.
Even though Amorim was aware of the horrific injury right away, his remarks about Leny Yoro show some hope, as does the fact that the defender did not wear protective boots when he left the stadium.
He said: “We have to assess Leny in a better way tomorrow [Monday]. He had a feeling, although I believe it might have been something minor.
In reference to Yoro’s preseason metatarsal ailment, he continued, saying: “He had that issue at the start of the season.” We’re hoping it’s not too bad. Perhaps it’s not a huge deal, but I don’t want to give away too much.
