Athletic Bilbao eyeing a move for talented Man United striker

Victor Musa, a promising talent from Manchester United, has caught the attention of Athletic Bilbao, as reported by AS. They believe that this skilled striker could play a crucial role for their team in the future, particularly since he hails from the Basque region, aligning with their recruitment strategy.

Nevertheless, Musa’s aspiration remains to play for Manchester United, and Athletic will need to convince him to depart from the prestigious club.

This season, Musa has excelled in the U18s, netting 13 goals and providing three assists in the league, including a remarkable double hat-trick during a record-setting 13-1 victory against Leeds United last month.

Only James Scanlon has outscored him in the U18 Premier League this season. Additionally, Musa has made four appearances for the U21s and was an unused substitute in their recent triumph over Everton in the Premier League 2 play-off round of 16.

He has been likened to ‘Lamine Yamal’ of United, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation is reportedly making efforts to persuade him to represent Spain, despite his previous appearances for Spain’s U16 team and England at the same level.

Musa’s future may lie away from United

Although Musa has performed admirably for Adam Lawrence’s team, his prospects may not remain at Old Trafford. Other younger forwards are currently positioned ahead of him, which could hinder his advancement to the first team.

Chido Obi, who joined the club prior to Musa and is a year younger, has already made appearances at the first-team level. He made his full debut during the loss against Brentford and is considered to have significant potential within the club.

Additionally, Ethan Wheatley is eager to make an impression on manager Ruben Amorim. He is the 250th academy graduate to represent United’s first team, having made his debut last season.

Another highly regarded striker at the club is Wales youth international Gabriele Biancheri. For Musa to surpass his peers and secure a place in the first team, he must demonstrate exceptional development.
