Arsenal and Man Utd told how much it’ll cost to sign Viktor Gyokeres this summer

Former Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres has become one of Europe’s most prolific goalscorers at Sporting CP and his proficiency in front of goal has earned him the lustful gaze of at least two Premier League clubs.

Manchester United aims to reunite Gyokeres with his former Sporting head coach, Ruben Amorim, while Arsenal’s urgent need for a striker in the upcoming summer transfer window is glaringly apparent.

Gyokeres has become a primary target for both Premier League clubs, but they will need to invest significantly to reintroduce the Swedish forward to English football. With an impressive tally of 38 goals in 32 league appearances for Sporting this season, Gyokeres has undeniably showcased his talent and is set to be the league’s top scorer for the second consecutive year.

It is unsurprising that he is in high demand. However, the question remains: where will he ultimately land? Gyokeres has expressed a strong desire to join Real Madrid, yet Arsenal and Manchester United appear to be more probable destinations.

As reported by John Cross from the Mirror, Gyokeres is included on Arsenal’s list of potential strikers, and a transfer could materialize if the financial terms are favorable.

“Arsenal have been told Viktor Gyokeres is all theirs for £60m,” reports Cross.

“Gyokeres, who turns 27 next month, has become an increasingly attractive option because of his amazing goal tally. Sporting are willing to do business and they have already made enquiries as they look to get business done early.

“Gyokeres, who has scored 95 goals in 100 appearances, would command a contract well in excess of £200,000-a-week to make him one of Arsenal ’s top earners.”

The Mirror also reports that Sporting have an agreement in place to let Gyokeres move if the fee is right and have already ringfenced the money.

Cross adds: “There is believed to be an agreement for Gyokeres to leave Sporting if a club pays 70m Euros – just over £60m – with the Portuguese giants already earmarking cash for a rebuild next season. The price could go higher if there is a bidding war which puts the pressure on to get a deal done.”

Where will Viktor Gyokeres move in the summer transfer window?

As Arsenal’s interest becomes more concrete, the Sweden international seems to be an ideal match. However, Manchester United and Amorim add complexity to the scenario.

Should the Red Devils secure a spot in the Champions League, Arsenal may forfeit their strongest negotiating advantage.

The Gunners also have alternative targets; while Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak may be unattainable, RB Leipzig’s talented Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko remains a contender on their list.
