Garnacho Breaks Silence on Key Challenge at Man United Under Amorim
Alejandro Garnacho has opened up about his evolution at Manchester United, revealing how he has embraced a major tactical challenge under new boss Ruben Amorim.
The Argentine winger, just 20 years old, has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford, notching 11 goals and 10 assists in 54 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign. But beyond the stats, it’s his maturity and adaptability that have caught the eye of coaches and fans alike.
“I’m trying to improve every day,” Garnacho said in a recent interview. “The manager is very clear about what he wants. It’s not just about flair and going forward — it’s about pressing, tracking back, and being intelligent with the ball.”
Amorim, known for his structured 3-4-3 system, demands high work rate from his wide players — something Garnacho admitted took some getting used to.
“At first it was hard,” he said. “I love attacking, but now I understand how important it is to help the team defensively. I’ve accepted that challenge and it’s made me a better player.”
Since Amorim’s arrival, Garnacho has developed not only as a dribbler and goal threat but also as a pressing winger who contributes on both ends of the pitch. His improvement has been a bright spot in an otherwise inconsistent campaign for United.
The Argentine international is now considered one of the cornerstones of United’s long-term project and could be crucial in the Europa League final push later this month.
