Manchester United travel to face League Two side Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
After losing 1-0 to Arsenal on the first weekend of the new Premier League season, Ruben Amorim’s team drew with Fulham on Sunday, meaning they have yet to win this season.
Even though it’s still very early, United’s new forward line of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko hasn’t connected yet.
For their trip to Lincolnshire, Amorim will probably make a number of changes to his team, but in the meanwhile, it has been revealed that one United player may be leaving Old Trafford shortly.
According to journalist Mike McGrath, Real Betis, a Spanish team, has agreed to re-sign United winger Antony.
After losing favor after Amorim moved to Manchester, Antony, 25, spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Betis.
With nine goals and five assists during his tenure in Seville, the Brazil international made an impression, and according to McGrath, the La Liga team is now planning to re-sign him.
According to him, the winger, who mainly plays on the right flank, will initially sign a season-long loan before finally joining Betis on a permanent basis.
Even though Antony’s current deal with Manchester United doesn’t expire until the end of the 2026–2027 campaign, it seems more and more likely that he has already played his final game for the team.
Antony joined United from Dutch team Ajax in 2022, and in 96 games with the Red Devils in all competitions, he has 12 goals and five assists.
