Manchester United lost 2-0 to West Ham United at Old Trafford, their 17th Premier League loss of the year.
The Red Devils recently defeated Athletic Bilbao 7-1 on aggregate to go to the Europa League final.
Even though manager Ruben Amorim selected a competitive starting lineup for the match against the Hammers, the players were unable to take advantage of opportunities.
In the 2-0 loss, Rasmus Hojlund was responsible for wasting several chances.
In the first half, Mason Mount gave the Dane a fantastic ball, but he mishandled his lofted attempt on goal totally.
Hojlund missed a goal from three yards out then missed another opportunity following Amad’s wonderful ball.
In addition, the £38 million star lost possession 13 times and only won 29% of his duels (4/14) overall.
Hojlund only managed to record nine passes and failed at two dribbles.
After yet another lackluster performance, we gave him a 4 out of 10. We thought he was the day’s poorest performer.
With six goals and three assists in 14 games, the 22-year-old has had a strong Europa League season for the Red Devils.
In the Premier League, he has only managed four goals and an assist in 30 games, falling short of expectations.
Joshua Zirkzee has experienced the same thing (injury). He has played a deeper role and has not been able to establish himself as a striker.
In our opinion, if the Red Devils hope to contend for the league crown in the future, they need to upgrade Hojlund.
Victor Osimhen’s representative just had a “first meeting,” and the Nigerian player might be the ideal fit for United.
This season, the Napoli player has made just 38 appearances on loan for Galatasaray, scoring 33 goals and dishing out eight assists.
He is more of a traditional striker and has excelled with his positioning and finishing skills, something that United currently lack.
