Viktor Gyokeres sends two-word message as ‘agreement’ struck over Man United target

Associated with Manchester United On social media, Viktor Gyokeres shared a two-word statement. With a stellar record of 95 goals in 100 games since joining Liga Portugal from Coventry City in July 2023, the Swedish international has emerged as one of Europe’s best attackers in recent years.

With 38 goals and eight assists in 32 games this season, Sporting’s top scorer has had a big influence on the Portuguese top division. With one game remaining, Sporting has risen to the top of the league thanks in large part to the 26-year-old’s contributions to Rui Borges’ team.

In recent days, the player has also been active on social media. He wrote, “Let’s go,” in one of his Instagram stories following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Benfica.

Since former manager Ruben Amorim was appointed in November, Gyokeres has been heavily linked to a move to Old Trafford. Having only scored 42 goals in the Premier League this summer, United is in desperate need of a reliable goal scorer.

However, according to The Manchester Evening News, United is more interested in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap than Gyokeres in bolstering their attack this summer.

According to the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, Arsenal has made a big offer to acquire the standout forward. They imply that the Gunners are now attempting to get their bid accepted after having previously reached a personal agreement with Gyokeres.

According to reports, Arsenal made an initial approach of £63.5 million in an effort to quickly wrap up their transaction. Frederico Varandas, the president of Sporting, is reportedly willing to engage in additional negotiations for his asset.

United now needs to decide what to do as a result of this development. Old Trafford is currently short on funds, and its Champions League future is still up in the air.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha is also high on the club’s wishlist. The Brazilian, known for his versatility, is of interest alongside Delap.
