Ricardo Mathias is a target for Manchester United, and Internacional seems hesitant to let him go.
The Peoples Person recently reported that United sent a scout to see Mathias, the most recent Brazilian young player to draw interest from several elite clubs.
With his intimidating physical presence and quick pace, Mathias, who stands 6’4″, has drawn a lot of attention and is a nightmare to defend against during transition.
This season, the 19-year-old has made 19 appearances for Inter and scored four goals.
Inter set their asking price for Mathias
Globo Esporte claims that Al-Nassr bid €13 million for the Brazil U20 international. Inter, however, declined the offer.
According to local writer Alexandre Ernst (via Sport Witness), Inter will not consider any deal that falls below €20 million (£17 million).
United has not yet submitted a bid to formally express their interest. Even said, Inter’s asking price is unlikely to deter bidders given Mathias’ enormous potential.
To lure 22-year-old Benjamin Sesko to Old Trafford this summer, the Red Devils have already spent more than £65 million.
They are therefore unlikely to press for Mathias’ signing in the hopes that he can make an instant impact on the senior squad. Chido Obi, who joined United last summer after leaving Arsenal, is likewise highly regarded by United officials.
Manchester United to offload Hojlund
However, in the case that Rasmus Hojlund departs, Ruben Amorim may find it advantageous to have an experienced number nine to back up the more inexperienced Sesko.
Hojlund is willing to join Antonio Conte’s team, and Napoli and United are negotiating a first loan agreement.
The head coach of United chose to start center-forwards Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha in the first two games of the season, ignoring Hojlund.
