(A score of 6 is around average)
Senne Lammens 6 – Made one good save in the first half to deny Crysencio Summerville. Strong during West Ham set-pieces. Couldn’t do much about the goal.
Diogo Dalot 5 – Some dodgy defensive moments and troubled a bit by the in-form Summerville, who got him booked in the second half.
Harry Maguire 7 – Solid again and made some crucial interceptions. Won his duels and seemed to be playing through the pain barrier before he was substituted and replaced by Leny Yoro.
Lisandro Martinez 3 – Shocking for the goal. Didn’t get out to engage Jarrod Bowen, allowing the West Ham man the time and space to pick out a teammate.
Luke Shaw 2 – Also very culpable for West Ham’s opener. Poor judgment to let the ball bounce and then mistimed the subsequent tackle. Not good enough defensively and may have cost United two valuable points.
Casemiro 6.5 – Did well in a packed middle of the park. Thought he had restored parity for United when he headed home but his goal was ruled out for a very close offside call.
Kobbie Mainoo 6.5 – Another good performance. One of the very few United players who demonstrated some calm and composure in possession. Excellent delivery to Casemiro although it eventually didn’t count for much.
Bruno Fernandes 5 – While instrumental in the early stages, his waning influence left United lacking the necessary creativity to penetrate West Ham’s low block.
Amad 4 – An unusually poor outing. Wasteful in possession and consistently struggled against El Hadji Malick Diouf, who dominated him for most of the game. A telling moment came when he ignored a clever overlapping run from Dalot.
Matheus Cunha 4 – Didn’t offer much.
Bryan Mbeumo 4 – Same as Cunha. Rendered almost completely ineffective.
Substitutes
Benjamin Sesko 8 – Stunning touch and finish to rescue a point for United.
Leny Yoro 6 – Picked up where Maguire left off.
Joshua Zirkzee 5 – Almost got on the scores heet late in stoppage time but couldn’t quite direct his header on target.
