Viktor Gyokeres to Man United transfer latest as summer move ‘agreed’

A Premier League team, not Manchester United, is said to have reached a deal with Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres ahead of the summer transfer season.

Since Ruben Amorim left Sporting to join the Reds back in November, Gyokeres has been strongly linked to a move to United. When the center-forward was discovered at Coventry City, Amorim was in charge, and since moving to Portugal, the Swede has only gotten better.

Gyokeres had amassed a staggering 95 goals in his 99 club appearances prior to tonight’s derby against Benfica. Talk of the striker leaving Sporting in the summer has increased as the season has progressed.

There have been rumors that Gyokeres and Sporting have reached an arrangement that would let the forward depart for less than his projected £85 million release clause. After everything the striker has done, the club is reportedly showing goodwill by doing this.

Arsenal is the first team getting ready to put Sporting’s commitment to the test, according to Correio da Manhã. They assert that Gyokeres and the Gunners have already agreed on personal terms, and they are now attempting to get their proposal accepted.

According to reports, Arsenal has made an initial bid of £63.5 million in an attempt to close the deal as soon as possible. Frederico Varandas, the president of Sporting, is reportedly willing to engage in further negotiations for his asset, nevertheless.

United is now in a position where they must choose their next course of action. Old Trafford is currently short on funds because their Champions League qualification is not yet assured.

Liam Delap of Ipswich Town is the main target to bolster the team’s offense this summer, according to MEN Sport. Now that the Tractor Boys have been demoted to the Championship, the former Manchester City player will be available for £30 million.

The team is also interested in Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Brazilian’s adaptability is viewed as a key selling factor, making him as desirable as Delap.
