Luke Shaw full of errors, but this was the real culprit in United’s farcical defending vs Bournemouth

Manchester United played out a dramatic 4-4 draw with Bournemouth at Old Trafford. Here are our player ratings from the game.

Senne Lammens 6 – Made a good save to deny Marcus Tavernier in the first half but didn’t cover himself in glory for Antoine Semenyo’s goal and certainly not for Bournemouth’s third of the evening. Positioning for the latter was simply not good. Two huge saves at the end to guarantee United a share of the points.

Leny Yoro 3 – A shaky defensive display. He was caught out of position multiple times in the first half, allowing Bournemouth to mount dangerous attacks. Also not good enough for Evanilson’s strike.

Amad 7.5 – Constant threat for United, especially during the opening 45 minutes. The visitors simply had no answer for him and it was not surprising that he supplied the finishing touch to break the deadlock. Nearly got on the score sheet again after a wonderful run but was just denied by a last-ditch Adam Smith tackle. Slightly declined in the second half like most of his teammates. He’ll be missed while away for AFCON.

Casemiro 6 – His header temporarily restored United’s lead, but his impact was mixed. A conceded foul in a dangerous area led to a free-kick, allowing Bournemouth to go ahead for the first time. Recklessly gave the ball away on multiple occasions and was rightly taken off and replaced by Kobbie Mainoo.

Bruno Fernandes 8 – Excellent free-kick to make it 4-4. Pulled the strings and involved in a lot of United’s attacking play. Another impressive outing.
