Manchester United player ratings: ‘Brilliant’ 8/10 but ‘poor’ 3/10 costs Amorim in Nottingham Forest draw

Man Utd player ratings from the 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Casemiro shone but Diogo Dalot struggled as Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Ruben Amorim named an unchanged side for the first time in the league as their winning run finally came to an end.

Benjamin Sesko and Dan Ndoye both went close in the early exchanges, but it was Casemiro who opened the scoring when he headed in from a Bruno Fernandes corner to give his side the lead.

Forest responded well after the break and drew level when Morgan Gibbs-White headed in at the back-post after an excellent cross from Ryan Yates. It wasn’t long before they had a second when Nicolo Savona prodded the ball in from close range after some poor defending.

Fernandes went close to an equaliser when he rifled a low effort against the post, while Igor Jesus nearly made it three for Forest when he sent an effort just wide at the back-post. United pushed for an equaliser and finally got one when Amad Diallo volleyed in a stunning effort from the edge of the box.

A draw was a fair result by full-time, and here is how we rated the United players at the City Ground:

3. Leny Yoro – 5
He coped well enough with the physical threat and was calm with the ball at his feet. He can’t be blamed for either of the Forest goals. | Manchester United via Getty Images

4. Matthijs De Ligt – 6
It had been a powerful performance in the heart of the United defence but he was partly at fault for the second goal and should have done better with his header. | Getty Images
