Mark Bosnich lauds Man Utd ace and says three things have got club back on track, ‘For all the obsession…’

Three games can change the entire narrative around a season, which is what Ruben Amorim is feeling now, and Mark Bosnich has said that it’s down to three things, with one player deserving immense credit.

It seems ages ago when the game against Sunderland to start October looked pivotal in deciding whether Ruben Amorim would live through the international break at Man Utd.

At the end of the month, however, he is in the running for the Manager of the Month award, ahead of Liverpool, and looking the best they have looked under his management.

Former Man Utd goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has said that the system of Amorim, a much talked-about point of discussion, has nothing to do with the resurgence, praising one player in particular.

Mark Bosnich on Man Utd’s turnaround

Amorim always said, much like Bosnich, that the system is not the problem, and with the team starting to win now, it seems prophetic.

He always spoke about the players needing to be stronger mentally and do the basics well, which would, in turn, lead to better results in any system.

Bosnich, in his column for Australian outlet Nine, echoed those sentiments, saying that more than the tactics, it’s the players’ “willpower, confidence, and determination” that is winning out.

He wrote: “For all the obsession over tactics and formation, it is old-fashioned willpower, confidence, and determination that have got United back on track.

“Amorim deserves all the credit in the world because he has made slight adjustments but not panicked. They’re a much more adaptable side, and they’re showing a lot of resilience.”

Bosnich praises Senne Lammens

As a fellow goalkeeper, not many will know better than Bosnich the effect a strong and confident goalkeeper can have on the rest of the team.

It is not a coincidence that United’s three-game winning streak has coincided with Senne Lammens‘ debut, who is yet to taste defeat in a United shirt.

Bosnich said: “A special word for the goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, who hasn’t played in a losing side since he’s arrived. You don’t win anything without your goalkeeper playing exceptionally well.”

Lammens has also spoken about the confidence he feels from his teammates, something that seemed absent with his predecessors in goal.

Regardless of how the turnaround has come about, Man Utd fans will hope that this is here to stay instead of the numerous false dawns they have seen come and go at the club.
