Angelo Stiller has one big admirer at Manchester United, he’s wanted to sign the German for years

Manchester United continue to compile options for a possible 2026 midfield overhaul and among the names is Angelo Stiller.

While there is a clear upward trajectory in regards to Manchester United’s performances and results, the midfield will still see serious attention in 2026.

Casemiro has revived his United career once again, becoming a key figure in the midfield for Ruben Amorim over the past few weeks.

The Brazilian has partnered Bruno Fernandes during the three game winning streak, however, neither are guaranteed to be at the club next season, and in place of one could be Angelo Stiller.

Angelo Stiller remains an option for Manchester United with Jason Wilcox a big fan

Stiller is one of the best young defensive midfielders in world football and looks likely to top plenty of wishlists in 2026.

Due to a release clause, United could sign Stiller for as cheap as £35m, which might make the German an attractive option when Premier League proven trio Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson all look set to cost £100m or more.

Within the United ranks, there is one massive admirer of Stiller, with Fabrizio Romano writing that the Stuttgart midfielder is one of the names on the Red Devils list thanks to director of football Jason Wilcox.

The journalist explains that Wilcox has monitored Stiller for years, which like ran before his time at Carrington.

Wilcox’s interest therefore likely comes with a certainty as he must know the German’s strengths inside and out. Which will limit the risk.

Manchester United could require multiple new midfielders in 2026

United want to sign Stiller, there is little secret about this, however, the real question is whether he would be the solitary addition in the middle.

We would assume not, with Casemiro and Fernandes both likely to depart, along with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte not having certain futures as Amorim doesn’t rate them.

This could mean United sign Stiller and also an Anderson, revamping the entire midfield in one window, like the 2025 summer transfer window was for the attack.

Cristian Orozco, Jim Thwaites, Jayce Fitzgerald and Sekou Kone could all provide depth in the midfield below this star studded new partnership.
