BREAKING: Financial blow takes shine off Man United’s new training kit announcement

Manchester United have unveiled a new training kit for the 2025/2026 season.

The club published images of Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, Mason Mount, Joshua Zirkzee, Grace Clinton, Jayde Riviere, Maya Le Tissier, and several other men’s and women’s team members wearing the kit.

The gear completely departs from last season’s, combining an aurora plum shade with black and white trim.

However, the club made the announcement without having a sponsor for the new kit.

According to Manchester Evening News, former sponsor Tezos, a Blockchain company, ended its agreement with Man United last month. The deal was worth £24 million per year.

The Tezos-branded training kit was donned by the men’s first team in the last three years, while the company’s logo was also on the women’s training kit.

Forward Matheus Cunha was pictured wearing a Tezos-sponsored hoodie during his unveiling, but other potential signings are currently set to be pictured in sponsorless attire.

Despite suggestions that United would get a new training kit sponsor, MEN reports that there is ‘nothing immediate in the works’ regarding such.

Marriott International, widely acknowledged as the world’s largest hotel company, has also ended its deal with the Red Devils.

The company is taking several cost-cutting measures and has decided not to extend its deal with the club.

Despite the disappointments off the field, United are set to step up preparations for the new season with players expected to return to Carrington next Monday.

After acquiring Cunha from Wolves, the Red Devils hope to agree to a deal with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo. They want the Cameroonian to resume pre-season training with them.

Starlets Diego Leon, Enzo Kana-Biyik, and Harley Emsden-James, whose signings should be announced this week, could also be involved in the preparatory exercise.
