Fabrizio Romano: Man Utd Eyeing ‘Unbelievable’ Baleba Alternative INEOS Love

Manchester United are closely monitoring Stuttgart star Angelo Stiller amid their ongoing search for a new midfielder, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

United were heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old this summer. Reports in German media claimed the Red Devils were eyeing a surprise move to sign the midfielder in the final days of the summer transfer window.

While Romano suggests that was not necessarily the case, United are appreciative of Stiller internally and are paying close attention to his development at Stuttgart.

Man United Monitoring Angelo Stiller

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Man United have yet to start any talks regarding a move for Stiller with Stuttgart but are closely monitoring the 24-year-old:

“I want to touch also on the Premier League now, on some midfielders. Because I’m always receiving many questions on Angelo Stiller, there was a report from Bild in the last few days on Manchester United tracking the player.

“Manchester United have always been following this player. Angelo Stiller is really appreciated internally at Manchester United.

“Last summer, we had some stories about Man United going on a mission to Germany negotiating to sign Stiller as a surprise for the final weeks.

“No, Man United never started any negotiations for Angelo Stiller in August last summer. That was never a possibility. It was always impossible.

“Stiller was always going to stay at Stuttgart in the summer transfer window, especially in August, so there was no chance to change the story in the final days of the window.

“But Angelo still remains a player monitored by Manchester United. They are following him. They are closely monitoring his progress. Again, at the moment, there is no negotiation, no talks.”

Stiller joined Stuttgart in the summer of 2023 from Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim and has made 91 appearances for the club to date, scoring six goals and providing 21 assists.

A holding midfielder, the 24-year-old is rated for his ‘unbelievable’ talent and could emerge as an alternative for United’s summer target Carlos Baleba.

The Red Devils targeted a move for the Cameroon international in the final few weeks of the transfer window but pulled their pursuit after learning of Brighton’s demands for a summer move.

The Seagulls were believed to be seeking around £120m for the 21-year-old. A fee in that region would have made Baleba the most expensive Man United signing ever.
