Manchester United have reportedly made a significant step in their attempts to sign Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.
The 25-year-old is coming off a sensational campaign, scoring 20 goals and providing his teammates with 8 assists in his 38 Premier League appearances.
After six years at the Gletch Community Stadium, it is past time for the Cameroonian to move to bigger things.
Despite interest from Champions League participants Arsenal and Newcastle, Mbeumo has chosen Man United as his preferred destination, much to the delight of the Old Trafford faithful.
Bryan Mbeumo chooses United
The winger is thus willing to follow the footsteps of Matheus Cunha, another spectacular Premier League star who was happy to pick the Red Devils despite the lack of European football next season.
Nevertheless, Man Utd wouldn’t want to waste any time on this front, as it could open the door for another suitor to overtake them in the race for the Troyes youth product.
According to Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg, United have already struck an agreement with Mbeumo and his agents over personal terms, and are determined to open talks with Brentford as soon as possible.
“Manchester United want to start negotiations with Brentford shortly in order to finalise the deal for Bryan Mbeumo,” posted the German transfer market insider on his X account.
