Man United’s ‘Best Signing In Years’ Named Privately By Club Insiders

Manchester United’s ‘best signing in years’ has been disclosed by club insiders in a new report.

The Red Devils have committed several notable errors in their recruitment strategies over the past few years, especially during the post-Sir Alex Ferguson period.

Jadon Sancho, Antony, Andre Onana, Manuel Ugarte, and Rasmus Hojlund are merely a few examples of players who have failed to perform after their significant transfers to Old Trafford.

United remains optimistic that their three prominent acquisitions, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo, and Benjamin Sesko, will not replicate this disappointing trend, having joined for a total exceeding £200 million.

The signing of Bruno Fernandes for £47 million stands out as one of United’s few instances of successful business; however, a recent report by Andy Mitten in The National highlights another addition that is perceived as a positive contribution.

Man United’s ‘best signing in years’

According to Mitten, several insiders at United have stated that Noussair Mazraoui is “the best signing they have made in years”.

The Moroccan player transferred to United from Bayern Munich for approximately £12.8 million and has taken on various roles, including central defence, wing-back, and even as a No.10 for one match under Erik ten Hag.

It is reported that Mazraoui impresses both teammates and coaches with his understanding of the game and is “consistent week after week, delivering performances rated at seven or eight out of ten”.

Despite arriving with considerable experience, the report indicates that those at United have been “surprised” by his agility, aggression, and strength.

Mazraoui was interviewed for the article and discussed several topics following his first season in English football, identifying Mo Salah, Karou Mitoma, and Anthony Elanga as his most challenging opponents.

While he is known for his versatility, the former Ajax player also disclosed that he has a preferred position in which he excels.

“I’ve been playing now a very long time as the right full-back,” he explained.

“And lately also the right centre-back. Right full-back is my favourite position, my best position as well. That’s where everything goes automatic. When I get the ball, I know my options. I know what I can do, what I can’t do. I know how to defend. It’s less thinking, it’s more enjoying.

Mazraoui missed United’s first two games of the season but after starting in the last-gasp win over Burnley last time out, he is expected to get the nod in Sunday’s derby against rivals Manchester City.
