9 Goals in 11 Games Man Utd Wonderkid makes new breakthrough amid battle for his services

One of Manchester United’s top youth prospects has given a signal over where his international future may lie.

Last season, Manchester United’s under-18 team ignited the initial rounds of the FA Youth Cup with the impressive performance of two young strikers playing together.

Gabriele Biancheri and Chido Obi proved to be overwhelming for their rivals, demonstrating why United boasts two of the most esteemed young strikers in global football.

Obi has already made his debut for the first team, while Biancheri is still awaiting his chance. Both athletes are presently part of the under-21 squad.

This week, they found themselves competing on opposing sides at the international level.

Gabriele Biancheri makes under-21 debut

Gabriele Biancheri is commemorating his debut for the Wales under-21 team, having come off the bench during their 6-2 loss to Denmark.

Chido Obi did not participate as a substitute for Denmark; however, he had previously played 45 minutes earlier in the week for the under-21s, having advanced from representing his nation’s under-20 team during the summer.

Biancheri was on the field for the last 27 minutes of the match, and although he did not score, he expressed his happiness at achieving another milestone.

The 18-year-old shared on Instagram: “Proud to have made my U21s Debut”.

Numerous teammates from United responded, including Obi, who commented with a ‘heart emoji’ in response.

Biancheri representing Wales, wanted by Canada

Gabriele Biancheri has represented Wales from the under-16 level up to the under-21s. He was particularly prolific for the under-19s, netting nine goals in 11 appearances.

Biancheri’s goal-scoring prowess has attracted interest from another nation he is eligible to represent, Canada.

Wales granted him permission to ‘explore his options’ by training with Canada during the summer, with coach Jesse Marsch commendably likening him to Jonathan David.

Biancheri’s recent decision indicates he remains committed, accepting the call-up to Wales’ under-21 team and expressing enthusiasm about making his debut for them.

The young striker wisely keeps his options open, but if his career unfolds as he aspires, it may not be long before Biancheri receives a call to join Wales’ senior squad.

Biancheri was among the players who were unfortunate not to secure a loan move this summer. However, if circumstances favor him, a first-team opportunity at United could be on the horizon later this season as well.
