Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana declined to recognize head coach Ruben Amorim during training prior to the international break, as reported by the Sun.

Onana’s rapport with the Portuguese coach has deteriorated since the commencement of pre-season, when the Cameroon international sustained a hamstring injury during the initial training sessions for the new season.

The sidelined Man United goalkeeper is poised to join Trabzonspor on loan, and Amorim believes that his departure has eliminated the last lingering negative influence from the training ground.

The Red Devils manager is convinced that parting ways with Onana will foster the atmosphere he desires in the dressing room, especially after players like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony were shown the door.

It has come to light that the Cameroon international had been playing on a perilously muddy pitch back home during the break.

Onana returned to the club this summer seeking a new contract, which did not sit well with Amorim.

He reported a hamstring issue on the first day of pre-season, followed by a complete injury on the second day.

This left the Man United staff questioning his physical condition after the summer, given that he suffered such a setback immediately.

Amorim has been utilizing Altay Bayindir as his primary goalkeeper in the Premier League thus far this season, while the highly-rated Belgian Senne Lammens was acquired on transfer deadline day.

Onana was in goal when Man United faced League Two side Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, but he was responsible for the two goals conceded and failed to make a save in the 12-11 defeat during the penalty shoot-out.
