Man United’s 22-day transfer deadline to complete Andre Onana deal after £18m confirmation

Manchester United is unable to sign any fresh players for Ruben Amorim because the transfer window is closed until January. Nonetheless, additional outgoings could still occur.

In a £18.2 million move from Royal Antwerp, goalkeeper Senne Lammens became United’s fifth acquisition, keeping them busy until the end of Monday night’s deadline. He enters Old Trafford along with Diego Leon, Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha.

With Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton both showing interest, Amorim would ideally have a new midfield player to add to his team. However, a move never happened, hence Kobbie Mainoo has remained in place.

Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Rasmus Hojlund all departed the team to join Aston Villa, Real Betis, and Napoli, respectively. United managed to get rid of members of their “Bomb Squad” during a difficult time since Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho left earlier in the transfer window.

The club still has the chance to sell more players even though the window for most of Europe’s major divisions including England has closed. Alongside Tyrell Malacia, Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir all face unclear futures.

Amorim now has a fresh goal option thanks to Lammens’ arrival. Due to their lack of success this season, Onana and Bayindir may have to watch the Belgium international take over as Old Trafford’s new number one.

Onana did not bathe himself in glory against Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup, but Bayindir has played all three Premier League games and given up four goals. Even though premier European clubs were unable to make a move, the two still have a chance to leave England.

On Monday night, Scotland and Spain remained open until 11 p.m., followed by Portugal an hour later. The deadline for transfers to the Dutch Eredivisie is later today, Tuesday, September 2, at 11 p.m. Switzerland’s and Belgium’s transfer windows are still open till Monday of next week.

With teams like Galatasaray and Fenerbahce previously connected to United players, Turkish clubs have until Friday, September 12. Lastly, until Tuesday, September 23, the Saudi Pro League is operational.
