Fabrizio Romano: Brentford ‘agree’ to sign ‘talented’ 25-year-old on loan from Arsenal as player heads for medical

This summer, Bryan Mbeumo left Brentford, and Yoane Wissa is now expected to follow. Under Keith Andrews’ leadership, the Bees have entered a new era. Thomas Frank, who was enticed away by Tottenham Hotspur, was replaced by him.

After their first three games of the new Premier League season, the London club has three points. They have lost both of their away games against Sunderland and Nottingham Forest. Aston Villa was defeated by Andrews’ team at home.

Brentford to land Reiss Nelson from Arsenal

Journalist Fabrizio Romano on X claims that Brentford has reached an agreement to take Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson on loan. Before the transfer window closes, the Bees plan to temporarily sign the attacker. They must complete the relocation before the deadline, which is at 7 p.m.

“EXCLUSIVE: Brentford agrees deal to sign Reiss Nelsson from Arsenal, here we go!” wrote reporter Romano on social media. Nelson declined offers from other Premier League teams and European teams in favor of joining Brentford on loan. He is currently in route to his medical appointment.

Nelson, 25, has an Arsenal contract that expires in 2027. He progressed through the academy’s ranks and has spent his whole career with the Gunners. As a child, he was a regular at several different youth levels.

To far, the former England youth player has participated in 90 games for his current team and scored eight goals. He has also played for Fulham, Feyenoord, and Hoffenheim away from the Emirates Stadium. Under Marco Silva’s leadership, the Londoner played the latter’s second half of the previous season.

Will Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson suit Brentford?

Nelson will provide Brentford with an additional wing option. They must figure out how to take Mbeumo and Wissa’s objectives and replace them. As Andrews attempts to build on Frank’s outstanding work at the Brentford Community Stadium, he has a challenging task.

Nelson will give the Bees’ starting lineup even more speed if they can sign him. He is a person who has demonstrated his ability to function at the highest level. He has chosen to join them because all he needs now is regular minutes.

According to their vice-chairman Tony Khan, who signed with Fulham in 2024, “I’m very thrilled to welcome Reiss Nelson to Fulham Football Club! We are thrilled that Reiss, a gifted young player, has joined the team on loan! His arrival brings the Club’s busy transfer window to a close, and we’re all excited for an incredible season! Hurry up, Fulham!

He experienced a few injury problems while he was at Craven Cottage. Earlier this summer, Silva stated: “We had Reiss Nelson last season. His injury record from the previous season was quite unfortunate. He may have had his best moment of the season, but the momentum was broken by a serious injury. However, he is currently playing for Arsenal and not for us, so I won’t discuss players from other teams.”
