Valentin Furlan, who works for Goal Brasil, has a big Manchester United claim on Tuesday afternoon, dragging Arsenal into the mix in the process.
Ruben Amorim’s side have been linked with a move for Wolves’ Matheus Cunha for months, and for weeks there’s been suggestions the transfer isn’t too far away from being agreed.
The gist is that Cunha would fit Amorim’s system better than the options the manager currently has available and would hopefully bring some more goals to the team.
According to Furlan, Manchester United are close to a verbal agreement and close to agreeing personal terms with the Wolves player. It’s claimed Arsenal have made a late attempt to take the Brazilian themselves, but that seems to be brushed aside.
Furlan states that despite Arsenal making a late approach, Manchester United talks with Wolves are moving forward.
The transfer fee is ‘expected to hit’ €74m, plus a potential further €6m for Wolves in bonus payments.
That would be a huge fee for Manchester United to pay, especially if they don’t win the Europa League and therefore miss out on European football
