🚨🤯BREAKING!!!| Bruno Fernandes with a total of 38,784 votes, is the player who received the MOST votes on a matchday this season, ahead of Patrick Dorgu (38,550 votes) on matchday 23.

The Digital King: Bruno Fernandes Shatters Premier League Fan-Voting Record

The “Portuguese Magnifico” is officially in a league of his own. Following Manchester United’s pivotal 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, the Premier League has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes has been voted the Player of the Matchweek for MW30—and the numbers are truly staggering.

In a display of global fan dominance, Fernandes received a record-breaking 38,784 votes, the highest ever recorded for any individual winner in a single matchweek since the award’s inception.

Surpassing Patrick Dorgu’s Season High

The race for the most-voted-for player of the 2025/26 season has been a friendly internal battle at Old Trafford. Until this week, the record was held by fellow United star Patrick Dorgu, who captured 38,550 votes in Matchweek 23 following his stunning “worldie” against league leaders Arsenal.

While Dorgu’s breakout season has made him a fan favorite, Bruno’s latest masterclass where he officially broke David Beckham’s club record for single-season assists has propelled the captain to a new level of superstardom.

Five-Star Consistency

With this latest win, Fernandes has now been named Player of the Matchweek an incredible five times this season:

MW13 & MW15: Early season dominance.

MW22: Leading the charge in the Manchester Derby.

MW28: Inspired comeback against Crystal Palace.

MW30: The record-breaking Villa masterclass.

He is currently the only player in the league to have won the award more than twice this season, with Patrick Dorgu and Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo being his closest competitors with two wins each.

The “Record-Breaker” Context

The voting surge follows a game that will go down in United folklore. By setting up goals for Casemiro and Matheus Cunha, Bruno reached 16 Premier League assists for the season. Not only did this move him past Beckham’s legendary 1999/2000 tally (15), but it also marked his 100th assist in all competitions for the club.

With eight games remaining, the “Braino Fernandes” (as Thierry Henry recently dubbed him) is now only four assists away from matching the all-time Premier League record of 20, held by Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
