‘I heard…’: Bundesliga expert confirms Man Utd are interested and ‘can afford’ €100m attacking sensationGerman football expert Christian Falk has confirmed that Manchester United are interested in and ‘can afford’ Yan Diomande.

Speaking via his CF Bayern Insider column, Falk revealed that the RB Leipzig starlet has been valued at €100 million (£87.1m) by club chief Oliver Mintzlaff.

He has grown a lengthy list of admirers in the Premier League, which includes three of the division’s top dogs.

“I heard that Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested,” said Falk.

He adds that Bayern Munich are also keeping a close eye on Diomande’s development and situation.

However, unlike his English suitors, the Bundesliga giants would not be able to meet Leipzig’s price tag, and are satisfied with Luis Diaz occupying the position on the left flank for the foreseeable future, given his tremendous form since moving from Liverpool last summer.

United’s prospective pursuit of Diomande would come in a window in which they are expected to facilitate the exits of three attackers: Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund will join Barcelona and Napoli, respectively, when their season-long loans come to an end, and Jadon Sancho will pull the curtains on his Red Devils tenure after five years when his contract expires in June.

They also sanctioned the sales of Antony and Alejandro Garnacho at the start of 2025/2026, and despite bringing in the impactful duo of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, it goes without saying that more depth is necessary – especially if there’s Champions League football to account for at Old Trafford next season.

How is Diomande faring this season?

19-year-old Diomande, a nine-capped Ivory Coast international, has returned a hugely impressive eight goals and six assists in 23 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign.

He would likely relish the prospect of playing alongside his compatriot, Amad Diallo, at club level, having both played at the African Cup of Nations in January.
