Manchester United are reportedly ready to make a move for Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque. The English club plan to offer around £42m (€50m), according to Fichajes
and covered by O Globo in Brazil.

Strong form draws Premier League attention

The 20-year-old forward has been one of Palmeiras’ most consistent performers. He has 16 goal contributions this season and continues to grow under Abel Ferreira.

Manchester United already tested the waters with a £29m (€35m) offer, but Palmeiras rejected it immediately. The Brazilian champions have made it clear that negotiations start only at £42m (€50m).

Palmeiras hold firm

Palmeiras paid £21m (€25.5m) to sign Roque from Barcelona in February. The club still view him as central to their long-term project. Even if a transfer happens, Palmeiras would not receive the full amount since Barcelona retain 20% of his economic rights.

Sources told O Globo that Palmeiras will only consider a sale if the proposal reflects his “true market value”. They plan to build around Roque, seeing him as a leader on and off the pitch.

Manchester United’s rebuild and European interest

For Manchester United, Roque fits their strategy of targeting young, high-potential players. The club know his value could increase if he shines in the Copa Libertadores final against Flamengo later this month.

Other clubs also remain attentive. Brazilian sources mentioned Tottenham and Chelsea among those monitoring his progress, though neither has advanced talks so far.

From Barcelona struggles to Palmeiras revival

Roque’s first European spell did not meet expectations. Barcelona paid £63m (€74m) to sign him before his 18th birthday, but he played only 16 matches before moving on loan to Real Betis. His return to Brazil in 2025 changed everything.

At Palmeiras, he has rediscovered confidence and consistency, becoming one of the standout players in South American football.
