Xabi Alonso tells Man United their chances of signing Endrick after furious outburst

Manchester United are one of a few sides credited with a loan interest in the Real Madrid forward ahead of the January transfer window.

Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso has hinted that he may not be willing to let Manchester United-linked forward Endrick leave the club.

United are among the teams reportedly interested in taking the 19-year-old on a loan deal when the January transfer window reopens. But they are not alone; Juventus, Newcastle United, and West Ham United are also said to be keen on a deal.

L’Equipe report in France that Marseille are also eyeing the teenager as a potential replacement for Amine Gouiri and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who will be part of the Africa Cup of Nations in the new year.

Endrick himself is said to be desperate for a move in search of more game time if his current situation at Real Madrid doesn’t change, as he targets a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad for next summer.

After missing the first five games in all competitions through injury, the forward has been an unused substitute for the last six games. It means that he is yet to make an appearance for the club this season.

Alonso has now answered a question on the possibility of Endrick going out on loan in January. But he appeared to hint that he would be happy in keeping him as part of his squad.

“Endrick on loan? We’re not at that point yet,” he told reporters at a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash vs Juventus.

“The competition in attack is intense. We have to be prepared for every game. Endrick, Gonzalo, and Brahim have to be ready.

“They’re going to come in, and have to be ready. This is the elite, and we need a lot of good players.”

Endrick’s desire for more game time, and his frustration at not getting, it was shown over the weekend, according to Spanish publication AS. The report says that the forward was visibly frustrated when he was not called upon in the 1-0 win over Getafe on Sunday.

Kylian Mbappe’s goal in the 80th minute was enough to give the side a 1-0 win, with Getafe eventually reduced to nine men. Endrick is reported to have kicked a bottle in anger on the bench when both Brahim Diaz and Gonzalo Garcia were called onto the pitch ahead of him in the 86th minute of the match.

The forward will hope that he can get his first appearance of the season when Real Madrid take on Juventus at home in the Champions League group stage on Thursday night.
