No-Brainer: £43m Star Would be Ideal Fernandes Replacement at Man Utd

Manchester United must ensure that they are ready to pounce on the signing of Angelo Stiller next summer after he has given indications that he is prepared to leave Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

The German is emerging as one of the most highly sought-after players in Europe since heading to his current surroundings in 2023 and making 94 appearances.

A deep-lying midfielder, the 24-year-old has scored six goals and provided an impressive 21 assists during that time, alerting the Red Devils to his services.

According to Sky Germany, Stiller is very open to a move to Old Trafford. However, a deal would cost more than £43million if Manchester United were to try and get a deal over the line.

GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano added that the Red Devils are closely following him, but as it stands, no negotiations have taken place over a move.

However, as attention starts to turn towards next summer, it feels like head coach Ruben Amorim’s focus is very clear.

Man United Must Go All Out To Sign Stiller

It’s become very clear, very quickly that Manchester United will be looking to improve their midfield options before long. Under Amorim, this area of the pitch has regularly been seen as something of an achilles heel due to the team lacking the right blend of physicality, desire and technical quality to make the manager’s 3-4-3 formation work.

Manuel Ugarte has failed to impress since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, while Kobbie Mainoo appears to be way down the pecking order under Amorim, despite being previously tipped as a future Red Devils star.

Manchester United have won three games in a row of late, with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes becoming the club’s reliable midfield duo, but with Casemiro turning 34 in February and continued uncertainty over Fernandes’ future at the club, it seems inevitable that at least one central midfielder will join the club.

As a result, Stiller would make perfect sense due to his profile. Hailed by German football legend Lothar Matthaus for his ‘tactical intelligence’, the Stuttgart star looks like a ready-made candidate to provide an all-round presence in Manchester United’s midfield.

Shining in terms of touches and chances created this term, the 24-year-old could be the ideal replacement for Fernandes or Casemiro if the Red Devils can stave off competition from other top clubs around Europe.
