Ex-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s reaction to having a fake Manchester United contract put in front of him said it all. United could be in search of a new head coach should Ruben Amorim’s poor run continue.
Amorim’s side have failed to move on from a sub-par end to last season, losing three of their opening seven Premier League fixtures. Money was spent in the summer and pressure is mounting on the manager.
One name that has loosely cropped up as a potential replacement should Amorim be sacked is former Liverpool manager Klopp. The idea of Klopp signing for the Reds’ bitter rivals is unfathomable, but we were given a small glimpse into how he might react to a United offer back in 2024.
Liverpool had just exited the FA Cup at the hands of United 4-3 in April of last year in what was Klopp’s final season in charge before he made way for Arne Slot.
The loss was a crushing one as young Amad Diallo sealed Erik ten Hag’s team’s win in the dying seconds. Upon entering the press room, ready to speak to the media in an understandably disgruntled headspace, a bizarre piece of paperwork appeared in front of Klopp.
