Amad Diallo has now explained the importance of finding a “solution” after one Manchester United summer signing became part of Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad.
The 23-year-old has established himself as an important Manchester United first-team player after forcing his way into the Red Devils squad under Erik ten Hag.
Erik ten Hag’s sacking as United manager paved the way for the arrival of Ruben Amorim, who has placed more value on Amad Diallo compared with his predecessor.
Amad has impressed under United manager Amorim and has shown his versatility at Old Trafford by being capable of playing as both a right wing-back and a winger.
The Ivorian attacker has become a United fan favourite since his prominent rise at Old Trafford and continues to play a key role in Amorim’s long-term ambitions.
Amad Diallo breaks down the all-important connection between Bryan Mbeumo and him at Man Utd
Amad Diallo has prominently featured as a wing-back in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for Manchester United after the arrival of Bryan Mbeumo in the summer.
United pursued Bryan Mbeumo over the summer and the Red Devils finally landed the 26-year-old French-born winger in July from Brentford with their third bid.
Mbeumo has been a standout player for United in the 2025-26 campaign and the former Brentford ace has become Amorim’s main pick for the right-sided No 10 role.
Amad has been playing out on the right side with Mbeumo and he revealed a “very important” part of their dynamic is based on their relationship on the pitch and off it.
“At the beginning, because he was a new player, we were trying to understand each other,” he told Manchester United’s official website.
“But now we find a solution: when he goes to right wing-back, I go as a No 10. When he plays as a No 10, I stay as a right wing-back.
“So, I think now we have a very good relationship, even outside the pitch. This is very important: not only to have a good relationship in the pitch, but also to have a good relationship outside the pitch, to put some things [together].
“A player has to be ready to play every position. I’m just here to give my best every game.”
Amad Diallo drops his feelings on Bryan Mbeumo playing as a Man Utd No 10 and his role as a wing-back
Amad and Bryan Mbeumo showed their effectiveness last Sunday after the pair linked up for United’s early opener against fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
The Ivory Coast international picked out Mbeumo with a superb pass after Liverpool’s defence switched off and the summer signing broke the deadlock.
Amad has insisted that his main focus is on “helping the team” in any way that he can, including sacrificing his role at No 10 for Mbeumo to play ahead of him.
“If Bryan plays No 10, I am so happy and, if I play No 10, I’m so happy,” he explained.
“But, for me, the most important thing is helping the team. If we win, we are happy! It’s nice. We’ve got good players and big talents.
“We knew already that Bryan, with Brentford, what he did with them was big things.
“So, we tried to bring him here to do the same and he is doing the same. We are really happy for him because he’s a humble guy, a really nice guy.
“I hope he can help us to score more goals, especially in the big games.”
Amad inked a new United contract back in January and the Ivory Coast winger has made eight appearances this season and picked up two assists for the Red Devils.
