Manchester United have officially submitted their Premier League squad for the initial half of the 2025/26 season.
Premier League teams are allowed to submit a maximum of 25 players to create their squads. This list can be adjusted during the January transfer window; however, each team has now finalized their squad ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.
United’s squad consists of only 21 players, but this number is supplemented by those included in the Under-21 category, which features Leny Yoro, Kobbie Mainoo, Patrick Dorgu, and Ayden Heaven.
According to Premier League regulations, U21 players are not required to be listed in the main squad, which can contain no more than 17 players who do not meet the homegrown player criteria.
A homegrown player is defined as an individual who, regardless of nationality or age, has been registered with any club associated with the FA or the FAW for a complete duration of three full seasons, or 36 months, prior to their 21st birthday, or the conclusion of the season in which they turn 21.
The homegrown players for United include Tom Heaton, Dermot Mee, Rhys Bennett, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Amad.
Tyrell Malacia was a significant addition to the squad submission. He is the last remaining member of the ‘bomb squad’ and may continue to reside in Manchester after being unable to secure a new club.
The Turkish transfer window is set to close on Friday night, while the transfer window in Saudi Arabia will remain open until September 23.
