Andre Onana is getting close to leaving Manchester United after making a bold transfer from Trabzonspor.
By starting his understudy, Altay Bayındır, in the first three Premier League games, Ruben Amorim has demonstrated that he no longer believes Onana to be his team’s number one.
Erik ten Hag signed the former Inter Milan player, who was given the chance to cast doubt on Amorim’s choices against Grimsby Town in the League Cup.
Onana’s errors, however, gave the fourth-tier team two goals. In the penalty shootout, he also gave up 12 penalties because to weak wrists, giving Grimsby a historic victory.
In addition to Onana’s inconsistent play, Amorim was not impressed by the 29-year-old’s desire for a new deal.
By signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on deadline day, the United head coach moved Ten Hag’s well-known acquisition down in the hierarchy.
Onana appears to have come to terms with the fact that he has no future at Old Trafford as a result of the development.
Fabrizio Romano said earlier today that Trabzonspor and United had verbally agreed to a season-long loan agreement for the Cameroon international.
According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Onana has now consented to join Trabzonspor, who are currently negotiating the terms of his contract with his representatives.
The Süper Lig outfit have been looking for a new goalkeeper after selling their captain Uğurcan Çakır to Galatasaray.
The Turkish transfer window does not close until September 12.
