“My understanding is that the deal for Andre Onana to Trabzonspor has very, very, very good chances to happen. My expectation is for the deal to happen. Let’s say like this. The deal is being negotiated on player side, but there is an agreement, as exclusively told you yesterday, Manchester United and Trabzonspor for a loan deal, and no buy option clause, no loan fee. So the agreement club to club with Man Utd and Trabzonspor is done. What I can tell you is that Andre Onana is open to that possibility, open to joining Trabzonspor, open to trying a new opportunity. And so now it’s about the contract details.”
After a dismal stint with the team since signing from Inter Milan, it is not surprising that United has approved Onana’s exit. Senne Lammens was acquired by Ruben Amorim’s team during the summer transfer window, raising more questions about Onana’s future at Old Trafford.
Although it’s uncertain if Lammens will immediately take over as United’s starting goalkeeper, Onana’s departure would undoubtedly reduce the number of available possibilities. There is no assurance that Bayindir will succeed in the Premier League right away because he has made starts this season and Lammens lacks experience, particularly at a top level.
