A huge Manchester United transfer update has excited fans as a flight has been tracked to the UK ahead of a potential announcement.
After spending around £200 million on a new assault, Man United is still looking for additional players.
This summer, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko were all signed.
After putting his offensive first, Ruben Amorim is eager to add defensive players, especially a new goalkeeper, after Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana’s performances during his team’s shocking Carabao Cup loss to Grimsby Town.
Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa had previously been considered by the team and had been linked to a move to Old Trafford.
However, David Ornstein claims that Man United has chosen Senne Lammens of Royal Antwerp.
With no sell-on clause, a fee of £18 million plus add-ons has been agreed upon.
As all parties strive to finalize a deal before Monday’s 7pm (UK time) deadline, Lammens is traveling to Manchester with personal terms on a five-year contract that has been agreed upon.
Additionally, while his route has been monitored, supporters have been informed of his flight from Antwerp to Manchester.
Before Ornstein’s update, one X user wrote: “Senne Lammens is on a flight from Antwerp to Manchester. A move to United could be on.”
A second added: “For the transfer junkies: Private jet en route to Manchester from Antwerp.”
After losing to Arsenal the first weekend, Man United’s position on a new goalkeeper shifted.
Arsenal scored after Bayindir, who started before Onana, flapped at a corner.
Despite starting all three of Man United’s league games this season, the Turkish goalkeeper has given up four goals.
When he was chosen for his team’s cup match against Grimsby, Onana, who cost £43.8 million from Inter Milan, did not perform well in goal.
The 23-year-old Lammens, who is well-regarded in Belgium, might be Amorim’s starting goalkeeper when he joins the team.
Lammens would be the Red Devils’ seventh summer acquisition if they can close the deal.
