Man Utd Could Sign Five Free Agents after Transfer Window Including Ex-England Star

Manchester United could sign five free agents after the transfer window slammed shut including ex-England star.

Even though the transfer window ended on September 1st, teams can still sign players who don’t have a club, and certain well-known players are still available.

Senne Lammens, a Belgian player from Royal Antwerp, was signed by United on the last day of a crowded transfer window. United felt they needed to sign a goalkeeper after Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana made a number of high-profile errors in the first two games.

Executives chose to sign the inexperienced Belgian despite Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa being linked. Manchester United ended the successful window by overhauling their attack, who only managed 44 league goals the previous season.

Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha, both seasoned Premier League forwards, arrived from Wolves and Brentford, respectively.

United was able to replace the goalkeeper and complete an offensive revamp, but they were unable to sign a midfield player.

Even though they considered Carlos Baleba of Brighton, United was unable to pay the south coast club’s asking price, which was comparable to the £115 million Chelsea paid for Moises Caicedo.

They are left with only Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, and Manuel Ugarte as their alternatives in center midfield.

What free agents could Man United sign?

Josh Brownhill is available. Last season, he led Burnley to automatic promotion under Scott Parker.

After playing for Manchester United as a schoolboy, the 29-year-old left to play for Bristol City and Preston North End before moving to Turf Moor.

He is a dedicated, seasoned defensive midfield midfielder who might give United’s unruly midfield some sturdiness. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a former midfielder for Liverpool and Arsenal, may also add vigor to the middle of the pitch.

Besiktas dismissed the 32-year-old last month, but considering his link to Anfield, it is unlikely that he will be welcomed at Old Trafford.

Paco Alcacer, a former striker for Barcelona and Spain, is also available. Additionally, United may be lacking a center forward as Rasmus Hojlund left on loan to Napoli with a buyout clause.

Joshua Zirkzee is the only other recognized striker at the club, and Sesko, who is only 22, needs time to adjust to the demands of the Premier League.

Due to his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, Sergio Reguilon is also a free agent.

The Spanish left-back might cover for the young Patrick Dorgu at left wing-back, despite his mediocre play during a previous time at Old Trafford.

Former England star Dele Alli is also available after he was released by Como after just one appearance but given his recent run at clubs, even MUFC and their recent form might see it as too much of a gamble.
